Mycotoxins suppress immune function in pigs and this may eventually decrease resistance to infectious diseases, re-activate chronic infections and/or reduce vaccine and therapeutic efficiency. For pigs, aflatoxins are the most acutely toxic of all mycotoxins, causing extensive liver pathology.
